The Fight Against Germs at Church

The Fight Against Germs at Church
Every facility has its fair share of germs. Churches are no exception. With a constant influx of people, it is a constant struggle to make sure that the Holy Spirit is all that we leave worship with.

Every surface is a possible hiding place for bacteria and viruses. Doors, light switch plates, bathrooms, upholstery, carpet, and air ducts are potential breeding grounds for harmful microbes. Viruses, including Covid-19, can even survive in the air for hours.

While qualified staff can address most hard surfaces, how do we take care of the threats that are stubbornly hiding in those “hard to reach areas”?

What is Ozone?

Ozone(O3) is both a naturally occurring and a man-made gas. It is also referred to as “activated oxygen”.

Have you ever smelled the air after a thunderstorm? It seems cleaner, doesn’t it? That crisp, clean smell is Ozone (God’s sanitizer). The electrical current from thunder and lightning splits and charges oxygen molecules. Those charged O1 molecules attach to O2 molecules to create Ozone(O3).

We create Ozone through machines that pass oxygen over ceramic plates, splitting the O2 molecules. This process is called the Corona Discharge. Yes. You read correctly.

The third oxygen molecule makes Ozone very reactive, eagerly attaching to other molecules such as those found in bacteria and viruses. As those pathogens bind with Ozone, the cellular walls are broken down, killing the virus/bacteria. This process is called oxidation.

As the oxidation occurs, the third oxygen molecule detaches from the atom and it reverts back into pure oxygen.

Ozone and Our Church

We are living in unprecedented times with threats that we cannot see. Periodic Ozone “shock” treatments are essential when being diligent in our fight against these invisible enemies. We can make our church facility safer and more pleasant by cleaning beyond what people see.

Ozone is not only effective in the elimination of viruses and bacteria. It is also lethal to smoke odors, VOCs, mold spores, dust mites, and much more!

Ozone can be used to improve total indoor air quality when used by trained professionals.

When used properly, Ozone is one of the most aggressive forms of defense against harmful airborne particulates. But, treatments should always be done with no people, pets, or plants in the area. After a few hours, the air is perfectly safe for re-entry. And, you will love the way the it feels and smells.

Ozone and Hydroxyls

Hydroxyl machines are also used to purify the surroundings. These machines use UV light to create Hydroxyl radicals that clean and deodorize the indoor environment. Just like ozone, they also break down the volatile organic compounds present in the atmosphere. Hydroxyl radicals, OH, penetrate to the molecular level of the harmful compounds and dismantle their structure.

The benefit of Hydroxyl technology is that is perfectly safe for people, pets, and plants.
