Curtains and Blinds

Because curtains and blinds are closest to the windows, they collect a lot of dust and dirt. While many of us clean our windows, we often overlook the curtains and blinds.

You may be surprised at how much dust those curtains are housing when you clean them and see their original color.

Blinds [if they are vinyl or aluminum] can be washed, or you can simply clean the dust with a duster or a vacuum cleaner.  

Light Fixtures and Ceiling Fans

Again, because they are out of sight, we forget to clean them. Due to this, both light fixtures and ceiling fans get covered with layers of dust. The dust can even make the light seem dimmer. 

Therefore, include them in your weekly cleaning routine. Before cleaning, make sure to switch them off. 

Then, wipe off the dust with a cloth. Remove the fixture cover and clean the light thoroughly. Replace the covers, and you are done! 

Walls

Walls collect a lot of dust and stains over time. While we clean the tables and chairs adjacent to them, we forget to clean the walls. Because we all unwittingly touch the walls when walking or climbing the stairs, they must be cleaned.

Cleaning the walls is not a tiresome task. All you need is a gentle detergent (try Murphy’s Oil diluted in warm water) and a nonabrasive sponge or cloth. Wipe them down, and fingerprints, stains, and dust will vanish.
